This paper presents an analytical method for predicting the J-integral for tubular members subjected to combined tension and bending loads. The estimation method is capable of predicting J in the entire range between elastic and fully plastic conditions and is written in closed form. This makes it quite convenient for placing the elastic-plastic fracture in a probabilistic framework. This has been done in another publication. Finally, comparison is made between predictions using the current method and experimental data.
