This paper describes how manufacturing planning can be used for generating manufacturability feedback for machined parts to be made on a 3-axis machining center. The approach presented in this paper involves systematic exploration of high level machining plans. It is expected that such analysis capabilities will give designers an opportunity to correct manufacturing related problems during the design stage and thereby reduce the number of design iterations.
